Our Rescued Horses Share "Peace" all across the Nation

http://www.zazzle.com/card_peace-137020847816780188
"Peace" from the Horses of DoubleHP

Each year for the past several years, Jet and Princey's "Peace" card is a bestseller in our Zazzle store. This year was a record-breaker. Nearly 500 of them sold. I don't know if you could still order them, get them, and send them out in time for Xmas this year. But Zazzle will send them out individually for you if you want to join in. Otherwise, really, we use these cards for everything year-round. What's wrong with a little "Peace"! You know?
It never surprises us that our rescue horses send "Peace" to so many people throughout the nation and also in other countries. Special thanks to the people from New Mexico who called and talked to me about our horses, AND ordered lots of the cards. And also the people from Kentucky who set a new record on amount ordered. Thanks everyone. Thanks Jet and Prince. "Peace

Unbridled Beauties of DoubleHP 2015 Calendars are ready for you to order!

Today, our 2015 calendars are 50% off through our Zazzle store.

Use that link above the photo to go to your Zazzle store. Make sure you use the promo code listed to get 50% off the calendars. When you go to our store, you will be able to see all of the months/pages/photos. When you zoom in on them you may see some copyright watermarks. Don't worry, those won't really be on your calendars. There are 3 different sizes. one is small enough to fit in your purse. I think those pages are 5X7 or close to that. The huge ones are huge! Pages/photos are 11X14. At half price, they cost $10-$15. Kind of spendy I know, but they are beautiful. And all the money we make in our Zazzle store helps our sanctuary horses. Zazzle will send our store items for you anywhere you want them to go. Enjoy!

DoubleHP annual rummage sale is tomorrow and Sat

Pam & Mae's annual rummage sale to benefit the Horses of DoubleHP is tomorrow and Sat. Friday and Saturday, Sept. 5 & 6 at 2517 S Main in Sioux Falls.
Pam says there is quite a bit of horsey stuff donated and also house stuff and garden stuff. Tonight I took some boxes over there. Really nice donated items from Sue Severson and Barb Nix and Riley?? I think and maybe some other 4-Hers. Thank you sooooooooooooooo much! What I can remember are lots of grooming supplies, some blankets both the riding kind and also the turnout/winter kind. some bridles, I think a breast collar, halters, ropes, etc. and lots of nice jigsaw puzzles. A beautiful women's winter coat, some womens Ariats kind of small maybe 5 or so. And that's just a small sample of what Pam's got donated.
If you have stuff to donate, you may call Pam at 310-2094.
DoubleHP is a 501c3 so your donations are tax deductible to the full extent according to Law.

On a sad note, this is the last year Pam can have this rummage at this location. It has been a great location the last 5 or so years, and we thank Pam & Mae soooooo much. But, we have to find a new host. Anyone interested?

links to photo album and videos from our Kids workshop last month

On July 24-25, 2014, Parelli Professional Bryna Helle donated some time to lead our "Kids Keep it Natural" workshop. We had five girls partner up with some of our sanctuary horses, and they put on a Youth Savvy Team Spotlight at the end of the workshop. Friends and family came and watched and cheered.
All five of these girls have also ridden here. Though this particular workshop was non-riding. And it was lots of fun.
Here is a link to a photo album on our facebook page. 40 some photos here.

We post to our facebook page nearly every day.
Please like us there.  We don't post all of our daily photos and happenings here on this web/blog, so you might want to check out our facebook page too!
thanks.

PT employment opportunity available here. Immediately!

Our horsemanship program has grown, and I'm feeling very busy and would like to hire another PT chore helper. It would be great to fill these spots with regular volunteers, but it just doesn't seem to happen that way. Thank you volunteers T...aryn, Denise, Shelli, Emily A, and also Christina and Angela. I just mean, there are certain times every week on certain days that I need someone. This includes Saturday any time for 2 to 4 hours. Sunday 8 a.m. for 2 to 3 hours, if you have quite a bunch of horse experience to move some of them around from stalls to pastures, etc. And also Wed. afternoon, late afternoon/early eveningish for 2-4 hours. Any or all shifts available. Thanks. This would be hourly wage about $7.50 or $8.00 for starters. Unless you really want to volunteer, which would be awesome.

if interested, call Darci 359-0961 or email doublehphorses@alliancecom.net

Beautiful Bella is our featured rescue horse for July-August

If any horse deserves sanctuary, it is Bella. I cannot begin to tell you what she went through the first few miserable years of her life. Because I don't know the whole story. But what I do know is as bad as it gets. Everyone who was supposed to care for her let her down: the breeder, the person who dumped her off at the shabby little salebarn, the people who bought her there, humane officers, law enforcement, and county & state officials. DoubleHP Volunteers never gave up though. And neither did Bella. A few years ago we rescued Bella's herd from starvation, at the request of law enforcement. Then officials gave the horses back to the owners. The next winter they were starving again, this time with dead horses lying around in the snow. No food. No water. No shelter. Shadow & Bella survived, and we finally got to bring them home. Forever.

If you would like to help sponsor Bella in 2014-2015, please make a financial donation and let us know it is for Bella's care. We are 501c3 as Horse Help Providers, Inc. (DoubleHP). You may send checks to DoubleHP, 25337 470 Ave, Crooks SD 57020. Paypal to doublehphorses@aol.com or use the donate button right here on our website. Thanks!

36th reason to be in AWE - get in sync!

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10154267078770284

that's a link to a really neat video we made on June 9. You can see Ralphie finishing up his first ride, Roman & Britt at Liberty, Roman & Lily doing synchronized Figure 8s for the first time and playing follow the leader, and Darci and Flicka doing bridleless riding complete with spins and flying lead changes.

35th reason to be in AWE - Parelli Professional Bryna Helle is coming July 23-26, 2014

We don't have all of the details yet, but Bryna is coming here in July! Bryna Helle, Parelli Professional and Two* Licensed Parelli Instructor tries to check in with us a couple of times a year. It's been tough scheduling this year we're all so busy. But she's coming July 23-26. On Thursday and Friday 9:30 to 1:30 both days, we're having a youth horsemanship workshop with Bryna. It will be great fun. But there are only 6 participant spots open, so get signed up right away. For now, just give me a call. Darci. 605 359-0961. We'll get more info. soon
We will use our sanctuary horses for the workshop, so nobody has to haul horses in. You don't even have to own a horse. And you don't even have to have horse experience. But you have to get signed up fast! only six lucky spots available.
there aren't really any age "rules" but we're kind of thinking ages 12-18, approximately.
will also be time for individual or group lessons on Wednesday afternoon/evening (the 23rd), Thursday & Friday afternoons, and Saturday a.m. & early afternoon. Our place or yours!
The youth workshop is a fundraiser that Bryna is doing for DoubleHP (501c3 as Horse Help Providers, Inc.) The cost is $180 total. half goes to Bryna Helle Parelli Professional (travel expenses, etc). Half goes to the Horses of DoubleHP (hay, grain, hoof trims, stall bedding, etc). Bryna is from the Twin Cities area.

Roman is our featured rescue horse for June

To help sponsor Roman, send donation checks to DoubleHP, 25337 470 Ave, Crooks SD 57020. paypal to doublehphorses@aol.com or use the donate button on our website www.newhopehorses.org. Roman was rescued from the slaughter sale when he was a 2 year old. Can you imagine this beautiful boy being thrown in the trash like that! Or any horse for that matter. But Roman really is beautiful. A pretty unique guy. DoubleHP is 501c3 as Horse Help Providers, Inc. We have helped to rehome hundreds of horses and during the past 12 years we have rescued many from starvation and slaughter.
Volunteer Britt has been developing Roman's horsemanship skills. What do you think!

gotta lotta catching up to do I know sorry

Sorry but we've had 3 family members in ER and one still in hospital. Will get caught up here eventually.

Spirit and Christina, figuring things out.

Gabe the Cat Whisperer

We have a new Cat Whisperer in our barn. His name is Gabe. He is sooooooooooo gentle with these kitties.
